Tourism; Unlocking Africa’s goldmine

Every year, Africa pays hundreds of billions of dollars to countries with great tourist attractions. While the major destination for most West African countries is Dubai, Israel and Saudi Arabia have remained the traditional religious tourist centers for Christians and Muslims respectively.

Nigeria alone has a huge tourist potential that is largely untapped. The northern region hosts lakes, forests, savannahs, shrubbery, and rocks. The MiddleBelt region is not left out. The cold weather of the plateau, the waterfalls, and the confluence of the rivers Niger and Benue present big tourist attractions that are left fallow. The entire Southern belt of Nigeria is full of monuments, artifacts, historical icons, etc.

This is the same story across almost all African countries.  Uganda, for instance, is called the pearl of Africa for its many tourist attractions. The Ugandan Safari Tours alone is a potentially great source of income. The country is blessed with scary but beautiful wildlife that would thrill tourists.

Activities that await a visitor include chimpanzee tracking in the Kibale Forest National Park, watching tree-climbing lions at the Queen Elizabeth Park, seeing the mountain gorillas at the Bwindi Forest National Park among many others.

Africa can benefit greatly from tapping into these natural resources from which a lot of dollars can roll in.

Recently, PMDAfrica is embarking on tourism to the pearl of Africa. Talks have been perfected with a great tourist management organization, Enkombe, to grant the visitors a memorable experience.
